Peak Giving – Amazon Supports Food Banks

The global Peak Giving campaign is underway, with Amazon delivering meals to individuals affected by food crises. Through collaboration with the Federation of Polish Food Banks, essential food items are reaching those in greatest need, capable of preparing approximately one million meals. This initiative also sees Amazon employees actively engaged, preparing gift packages and assisting in their distribution.

Peak Giving represents just one of many charitable actions undertaken by Amazon, through which the company actively supports those in need and combats the scourge of hunger. “Throughout the year, we at the Federation are engaged in numerous initiatives to assist those facing challenges. However, the holiday season holds particular significance for us. Therefore, we are delighted to once again collaborate with Amazon on their global Peak Giving campaign, sharing goodwill with others,” says Barbara Krystosiak, Manager of Social Projects at the Federation in Central and Eastern Europe.

“In addition to financial contributions, we encourage our employees to also engage in charitable activities. The growing number of volunteers who join our initiatives each year demonstrates the collective desire to create better holidays for those facing difficulties. We are pleased that our collaborative efforts have a tangible impact on the lives of others and inspire further assistance,” adds Barbara Krystosiak

In partnership with the Federation of Polish Food Banks, Amazon volunteers are assembling food parcels and aiding in their distribution. They will also support the organization of Christmas gatherings for the beneficiaries of these institutions. Through the financial support provided by Amazon, Food Banks will rescue food from waste, providing sustenance for those in need to prepare approximately 1,000,000 meals. The true extent of this assistance will be determined upon the conclusion of the campaign.

“Last year, nearly 1.5 million individuals facing challenging life circumstances benefited from free food assistance provided by Food Banks. In Poland, approximately 1.6 million people live below the poverty line, surviving on less than 23 złoty per day. It is for them that we strive to offer assistance, rescuing food from waste,” says Beata Ciepła, President of the Federation of Polish Food Banks.
